Character NAME: Kousuke Nitoh
Character PULL-POINT: Kamen Rider Wizard Episode 29
Character AGE: Early twenties college dropout.
Character ABILITIES: Nitoh possesses the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Beast, an ancient wizard who transforms through the use of magic rings and a belt buckle that looks like a locked gate. He has four rings that give him access to four cape modes as Beast. Dolphi Cape gives him healing abilities and the ability to swim quickly. Chameleo Cape allows him to camouflage himself, and the use of a tongue-whip that comes from the Chameleon head shoulder armor. Falco Cape allows him to fly at high speeds. Buffa Cape gives him a boost to his strength and endurance. He also has use of the Dice Saber, a sword which can generate random numbers of magical animals to attack his enemies, up to six. Recently he has gotten a ring that allows him to manifest Beast Chimaera in the real world, in a form known as Beast Hyper. It is a more powerful suit form that uses a gun called the Mirage Magnum. However, he has only just unlocked this form and it uses much more mana than his base form, so he won't be using it very often.
Character WORLD: In Nitoh's Tokyo, a solar eclipse nearly a year before his pull point birthed evil magical creatures called Phantoms from the bodies of Gates, humans with magical potential. These Phantoms now scour the city and outlying areas for more Gates to create more Phantoms, planning for a future event called the Sabbath, where the plans of their leader, Wiseman, will come to fruition. Kamen Rider Wizard fights these Phantoms, and so does Nitoh, in the guise of Kamen Rider Beast.
Character HISTORY: As a child, Kousuke was always impetuous and wild, getting into no end of trouble despite the watchful eye his grandmother kept over him. He grew to resent her, thinking of her as someone who kept him from doing what he wanted, and when he graduated High School he enrolled in a college far from his hometown of Fukui to study archaeology. He wasn't a great student, but his enthusiasm helped him along to an archaeological dig abroad. It was there that he found the sealed Beast Driver, which spawned Ghouls (Phantom underlings) when he unsealed it. In order to save his life, he made an agreement with the disembodied Phantom Beast Chimaera, who entered his body in order to give him the magical power to defeat the Ghouls. Unfortunately, the power comes with a price. Nitoh is not a natural-born Gate with the ability to replenish his own Mana, so he has to get it from outside sources. If he doesn't continually consume magical power in the form of Ghouls and Phantoms, Chimaera will eat him, and he will become a Phantom himself.
To that end, he came to Tokyo to find a regular food source for the Phantom inside him. He met up with Haruto Sohma not too long after he arrived in the city, and immediately realized that the two of them were competing for a scarce resource. He immediately considered Haruto his eternal rival. For him, the battle for Phantoms is life or death, and he takes it about as seriously as someone like him is capable of. He hadn't realized until he was informed by the Phantom Medusa that Phantoms are born from the deaths of human Gates. His moral crisis was very short, however. With guidance from Haruto and a shaky truce, he decided to worry about people who are in danger today before worrying about his possible danger in the future. He slowly warmed up to Haruto and his friends, not halfway because he doesn't have a place to live or a steady job, and likes to mooch off them.
Recently, his grandmother came to Tokyo looking for him, and it turned out that she was a Gate as well. His attempt to hide his identity by pretending to be Magical Girl Beast-chan failed incredibly, and his grandmother found out that he has to consume Phantoms to survive. Subsequently, she tried to offer herself up to the Phantom in order to ensure his continuing health. Nitoh realized that all his grandmother did for him was out of love and a desire to protect him, and she realized that her falling to despair and turning into a Phantom would only hurt him and not help. With Haruto's help, the two of them stopped the Phantom that was after her.
Character PERSONALITY: Kousuke Nitoh is not a smart man. He doesn't pay a lot of attention to how others see him, or how he comes off in social situations. He assumes that everyone knows as much as they need to about himself and his situation, and doesn't elaborate further. He has passions in life and he explores them past their logical limits. He loves food, though he cares little about the quality of said food as long as he has mayonnaise to put on it. Mayonnaise is his one vice and his passion for it borders on the incomprehensible. He puts it on everything and extols its virtues to anyone who will listen, even going so far as to bomb other people's food with it.
Despite his obsession with something so trivial as mayo, he has a definite personal philosophy in life. To him, the flip side of any crisis is an opportunity. The reason he has continued to function, despite the fact that there is a magical creature inhabiting his soul and waiting to consume him, is because of his incredible optimism. He doesn't mind living in a tent in the park or having his family targeted by Phantoms, as long as he has the ability to take the bad things that happen and turn them around. He might complain... He might complain a lot, when his impulsiveness and relative naivete get him into trouble, but he never lets it get him down. This is why he's an ideal candidate for the position of a magic-using Kamen Rider, because the only way to survive with a Phantom inside you is to never give in to despair.
He's stubborn, occasionally delusional, and just a touch vain and dramatic. He has ideas about his world that may not be true, but that he nevertheless continues to fervently believe, like his naming Haruto as his rival despite their indubitable if rocky friendship. His optimism has a flip side, that he doesn't let anything interrupt his lifestyle, no matter how pressing or important. He tends to just try to drag people along with his point of view, even if they don't seem to be entirely interested in it. Despite all this, he is at his heart a good person, and one who's willing to sacrifice in order to help others.
» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON: After some thought and prompting, the weapon he decides he wants to be able to make stronger is his Beast Driver, which he considers faulty because it won't use Haruto's rings. At higher levels, it becomes able to scan rings without having to set them, allowing him the use of Haruto's rings, and its magic powers up in level as well.
Character INVENTORY: Well. Kousuke is a bit of a wanderer and anything important he owns he carries around in a giant rucksack on his back as he wanders from place to place. So, inside that rucksack or on his person he has...
Several changes of clothes, mostly jeans and tees, as well as socks and underwear.
A furry vest with cute ears.
A tan jacket.
One tie and one collared shirt.
Necklace
Beast Driver
Beast Rings including Hyper Ring
Mirage Magnum
Gryphon Ring (summons the Gryphon familiar, which operates independently)
first aid kit and sundries.
Tent
sleeping bag
cooking supplies.
A seemingly unending supply of Japanese Mayonnaise

First PERSON: [The feed flickers on with a wobbly view of a single eye and a thick eyebrow. It wobbles.]
Oh! Ohh!! It's on! I think!!
[The image pulls out to focus more generally on Nitoh's face. He holds his device out at arm's length as he walks up a back staircase in some nondescript building]
Hey! I'm Nitoh, Kousuke Nitoh. I'm looking for my RIVAL, Haruto Sohma, Kamen Rider Wizard. And also PHANTOMS. I'm sure he's hiding some somewhere around here. They told me there are no Phantoms here, but thats gotta be a trick or something. BECAUSE! There's no way I could be here AND he could be here without there being any PHANTOMS here!!!
[He treks up and pushes open the door up to the roof, and for a moment the video feed whites out, until it adjusts to the light and it shows him silhouetted and the scattered rooftops below him. It bounces up and down as he paces.]
Okay, stop don't say it, I know what you want to know. How do I know my rival's even here? WELL! They told me when I asked that he was here! So Haruto! Don't try to hide from me! I'm sending my little gryphon out to find you!
[He sets the camera down, still pointing at him, as he activates his driver belt and a little self-assembling model appears in mid-air in front of him: a green somewhat robotic-looking gryphon. He pulls off the ring he is wearing and sets it inside, then looks at the camera significantly.]
SEE! I'll find you if I have to search every donut shop in the city!!
[Gryphon flies off and he waves his forefingers at it as it leaves, smiling genially. Then he looks back.]
And then you can show me where you're keeping all the Phantoms in this city! You gotta share, you KNOW why!
[At the last, he focuses strongly on the camera, pointing accusingly at it. Then he waves, back to a winning grin.]
Later!!!
[The feed switches off]
Third PERSON: Kousuke stretches his arms as he hangs half in and half out of his rooftop tent. He probably could be staying in the apartment they gave him, but he had a fight with Haruto about the whole mana thing again, and he's not interested in being somewhere that Haruto could immediately find him. They'd promised, pretty much sworn that they'd find him a regular source of mana so he wouldn't you know, die and be consumed by Chimaera. But until they figured that whole thing out, he was stuck having to mooch off Haruto's mana. Just thinking about it makes him groan, and he lies his head on the whitewashed concrete roof. I mean, it was bad enough to find out that Haruto could use his magic rings but he couldn't use Haruto's without him essentially depending on Haruto to keep him ALIVE. And with Haruto's mana pool as huge as it was, even Chimaera couldn't drain him down. It was so galling.
He crosses his arms, frowning upside down. Not to mention the fact that Haruto was constantly giving him these stupid looks and asking him if he's not sure he won't let Haruto go into his underworld and defeat his Phantom. Like he's gonna let himself look stupid in front of Rinko and Shunpei and his grandma when he gets home, just cos he's a little nervous about Chimaera going hungry. HA! As if.
If Haruto's nervous, it's gotta be because he feels intimidated now that Kousuke's found his way to his weird little secret time travel universe or whatever this place is. Not because he actually thinks something stupid like having to be separated from everything he's ever known, and divided from the already limited resource that keeps him alive might be something that could drive Kousuke to despair. His rival better know him better than that. If letting Haruto put a ring on him and hold his hand over his crotch for a little while every couple of days is what it takes to turn this crisis into an opportunity, well... Even if he didn't like it, that's what he'd have to do. He sits up and decides to pack up the tent and go burst in on his rival, cos like fun he was gonna let Haruto think he'd won the argument.
